Reviews:Serial Samaritan is the third novel authored by Gary Stout, and he’s at the top of his craft in this smartly written detective mystery. As with his prior works, Stout’s mastery of the written language is exceptional—he doesn’t simply tell an engaging story, but he does so with rich, flowing passages that transport the reader to another place, another time. In this case, that means trendy nightclubs in Manhattan and the gritty Meat Packing District, as we walk along with Detective Larson on a seemingly impossible quest to solve a riddle for which there are few clues. Nothing is as it first appears, and much like real life cases, we follow the police as they work to piece together leads, hypothesis, and scant evidence before there are other victims—or are there any victims? That remains a vexing question, with an elusive answer. And just when you think that Larson is mad, the truth hits you like a punch in the gut that you never saw coming! Mr. Stout is definitely an author worth following. Can’t wait for his next book! Dave Edlund, Author of Crossing Savage The underground sex trade of Manhattan is dealing with a problem that is much worse than the cops; prostitutes are disappearing one by one. An excellent but tired cop from the department of missing persons, Detective Larson, is on the case. However, it seems impossible to do his job. The killer never leaves any bodies, thus it is difficult to get vital clues to put anyone on the suspect list. Time is running out and the police frantically search for any clue at the gritty Meat Packing District. Lit Amri for Readers’ Favorite |
